Margin of Error Destroy. Create. Repeat.

by Andy Vogel

Margin of Error is an industrial band emerging up north from the lovely city of Cleveland. Earlier this month, the group dropped their full-length album Destroy.Create.Repeat.. It is the follow up to their EP Head Connect and a remix album Destroy.Create.REMIX. These industrialheads have a great chance of making a crack in the music biz. Margin of Error is has the same tone of underground sensation as Rammstein, Infected Mushroom, and Combichrist. This is a band you do not want to sleep on.

Here is the song-by-song rundown of the long awaited album, Destroy.Create.Repeat.

Art is Dangerous
A weird intro of whispering voices. It is just your basic opener for an industrial band. Intros are almost required these days.

Physical Body Projection
This new mix is disappointing. The track first appeared on the Head Connect EP. To me it was the highlight of the EP. Everything on this new mix was reworked, such as vocals, beats, synths, and just the flow. Overall, it is still a cool track, but the original blows this one out of the grave.

Advance the Spectrum- An ambient rave force that shocks your brain cells. The mash up with guitars and synths fits the EBM mood.

Vital Signs
This track isn’t as upbeat as the rest, but still layouts some heavy riffs. The vocal mix is well done. It is good to see that the band is expanding their horizons with different genres.

Deeper into You
A very hard-hitting cut with few vocals. A perfect vibe for moshing someone’s face in. That’s the hidden beauty of Margin of Error. Not quite EBM or Metal. Just an equal dose of both genres.

Bliss
Another track from the Head Connect EP. Unlike “Physical Body Projection,” this new mix is assembled just right. New scratchy vocals that crawl up your spine. This is one of the most notable tracks on the album.

Theory
A mean, instrumental beat full of eerie voice samplers. Plays out like an Infected Mushroom track. A track that rivetheads can sink their fangs into.

The Balance of Self
A fresh new song off the album that bleeds into you. Loud as hell with punchy beats makes this some great new material for the band. Perfect skull-crushing quality.

Enslaved
This new blend sounds generally the same as the old one. However, everything has been re-upped -- from, drums and synths to vocals and guitars. Basically a reissue of a track that has been re-mastered.

Frustration
This track first appeared on the Destroy.Create.REMIX album. The track stands out from the rest because it has plenty of breakdowns and raunchy buildups. Much more better than the remixes.

Symbol
Along with the cut “Theory,” this is a slow-paced mind-bender. Although slow paced, it is still full of warped synthesizer to keep you grooving.

Destroy. Create. Repeat.
A bone-chilling melody followed by gut-wrenching riffs. Prefect mash up of faint screams and splattering drum beats.

Hopeloss
Every album needs an outro. Margin of Error ends this outro neatly. With simple breakbeats and sappy synths, this gives Destroy.Create.Repeat. the perfect recipe for mechanical mayhem.
